Comparison
A Bland AI alternative for teams that want model choice
Bland AI owns its model stack, and we concede that strength up front. PeachDesk differs on structure, not adjectives: per-stage sourcing with BYOK, a platform you can deploy yourself, and an architectural path off the per-minute meter. Part of our compare voice AI platforms hub.

The short version
Bland AI runs its own proprietary speech and language models and bundles them into a single per-minute rate: $0.14, $0.12, or $0.11 depending on tier, plus platform fees of $0, $299, or $499 per month, plus telephony billed separately, with daily call caps on self-serve tiers. That bundle is genuinely simple to forecast. What it does not offer is model choice, BYOK at the model layer, or self-serve self-hosting. PeachDesk runs the same category of platform with a different architecture: bring your own keys and pay PeachDesk nothing per minute, or self-host inference in Local mode and remove the per-minute provider charge entirely, paying for GPU capacity instead.
Bland AI versus PeachDesk, dimension by dimension
Bland AI versus PeachDesk on identical dimensions| Dimension | Bland AI | PeachDesk |
|---|
| Headline per-minute rate | $0.14, $0.12, and $0.11 per minute across the Start, Build, and Scale tiers, bundling LLM, STT, and TTS, plus platform fees of $0, $299, and $499 per month (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). | No single metered headline. Frontier mode usage is metered, and the editor shows an estimated cost per minute before an agent runs. |
|---|
| Realistic all-in per-minute cost | Approximately the headline rate plus telephony, which is billed separately through your carrier or Bland pass-through, plus the monthly platform fee on Build and Scale (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). | Set by sourcing mode per stage: Frontier mode is metered, your own keys bill at your own provider rates, and Local mode carries no per-minute provider charge while you pay for GPU capacity. |
|---|
| Meter floor under full BYOK | No BYOK exists at the model layer, so the bundled per-minute rate applies on every call. There is no configuration where the model meter approaches zero (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). | Zero on the PeachDesk side. Calls on your own provider keys are never metered by PeachDesk and never consume PeachDesk credits; you still pay your own providers. |
|---|
| Bring your own provider keys (BYOK) | No at the model layer: Bland runs its own proprietary models with no model choice. Bring-your-own telephony is supported through Twilio or any SIP trunk (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). | Yes, per pipeline stage per agent, mixed freely with managed frontier providers or self-hosted inference. |
|---|
| Path to near-zero per-minute inference | None documented. Bland owns its model stack, a genuine strength, but the stack is closed and Bland operated; customers cannot run it on their own GPUs outside an Enterprise contract. | Yes. Local mode runs a full open-model stack on your GPUs with no per-minute provider charge; you pay for GPU capacity. Telephony carriers always meter. |
|---|
| Self-hosted deployment | On-Prem and VPC deployment are marketed, but the pricing page places them behind Enterprise contracts with unpublished pricing. Self-serve tiers run Bland-hosted (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). | The full platform self-hosts with Docker Compose. Billing is off by default in the self-hosted stack; you still pay your own providers and infrastructure. |
|---|
| Where call data can live | Bland-hosted by default. Data residency across US, EU, and APAC is available on request under Enterprise contracts (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). | Inside your own environment. On self-hosted stages, call audio and transcripts need not leave it. |
|---|
| Compliance posture | Bland self-reports SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA BAA, PCI DSS, and GDPR. BAA, SSO, guardrails, data residency, and warm transfers are Enterprise-gated (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). | Bibha, the company behind PeachDesk, holds SOC 2 and ISO 27001 at the Bibha AI Trust Center, with ISO/IEC 42001 in progress. No HIPAA artifact today. For data control, the platform, the models, and the call data can also run inside your environment, fronted by your own controls and auditors. |

Where Bland is stronger
- Owned models, honestly conceded. Bland builds and operates its own speech and language models rather than wrapping third-party APIs. Customer call data does not pass to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any other model provider, and that is a credible data-isolation story in regulated deals.
- Forecasting simplicity. One bundled per-minute rate with no token charges and no model pass-throughs makes cost projection easier than assemble-it-yourself stacks.
- Forward-deployed delivery. Bland markets engineers who build a customer's first agent end to end, with an enterprise go-live framework measured in weeks.
- An on-prem path exists. It is Enterprise-only and sales-gated with unpublished pricing, but it exists, and any fair comparison must say so.
Where PeachDesk is structurally different
- Model choice per stage. Bland's stack is closed: one vendor's models, no swaps, no BYOK at the model layer. PeachDesk sources each pipeline stage independently across Frontier mode providers, your own keys, and self-hosted open models.
- An architectural path off the meter. Local mode runs a full open-model stack on your GPUs with no per-minute provider charge; you pay for GPU capacity. Frontier mode stays metered, and telephony carriers always meter.
- Control without an enterprise gate. Self-hosting, data residency in your own environment, and billing that is off by default in the self-hosted stack are self-serve on PeachDesk, not contract items. You still pay your own providers and infrastructure.

Cost structure, in plain terms
Bland's model is a bundled meter plus a platform fee: $0.14 per minute on the free tier, $0.12 on the $299 per month Build tier, and $0.11 on the $499 per month Scale tier, with telephony on top and daily call caps of 100, 2,000, and 5,000 calls respectively (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). Because there is no model-layer BYOK, that meter applies to every call. PeachDesk's model is a sourcing choice per pipeline stage: metered Frontier providers where you want them, your own keys where you do not, and self-hosted inference where you want the meter gone. Keep everything on your own keys with the $59 a month Pay As You Go platform charge, or use the $0.06 per minute Bibha Plan, as low as $0.03 per minute at volume, only where managed providers earn it. For the mechanics, see PeachDesk pricing and our explainer on voice AI cost per minute.
Deployment and data control
Bland's self-serve tiers run on Bland infrastructure; On-Prem and VPC deployment, data residency, SSO, BAA, guardrails, and warm transfers all sit behind Enterprise contracts (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). PeachDesk publishes a Docker Compose self-host path for the full platform, voice engine included, so call audio and transcripts can stay inside your environment as a standard architecture rather than a contract tier. Bibha, the company behind PeachDesk, holds SOC 2 and ISO 27001 at the Bibha AI Trust Center, with ISO/IEC 42001 and EU AI Act readiness in progress. If deployment control is the reason you are comparing, read about self-hosted voice AI on PeachDesk.
Migration notes
Teams that migrate from Bland keep the assets that are hardest to replace. Your phone numbers never move: they stay with your carrier, because porting is a carrier concern rather than a platform one, and PeachDesk connects seven telephony providers plus your own Asterisk PBX. Call flows rebuild on the visual canvas or from JSON definitions; there is no automated import, and we will not claim one, but each agent maps stage by stage. The bigger shift is conceptual: on Bland, models come with the platform, so your first PeachDesk decision is sourcing per stage. Keep everything on managed or self-hosted providers with the $59 a month Pay As You Go platform charge, add your own provider keys where you already have accounts, and use the $0.06 per minute Bibha Plan only where managed providers earn it.

Frequently asked questions
Is PeachDesk cheaper than Bland AI?
Cheaper per minute is the wrong frame; cost structure is the right one. Bland bundles models into a $0.11 to $0.14 per minute rate with platform fees of $0, $299, or $499 per month and telephony billed separately (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). PeachDesk lets you choose sourcing per pipeline stage: metered Frontier providers, your own keys never metered by PeachDesk, or Local mode with no per-minute provider charge on self-hosted stages, where you pay for GPU capacity.
Does Bland AI support BYOK?
Not at the model layer, and we will not pretend otherwise. Bland runs its own proprietary speech and language models, so there are no provider keys to bring; telephony is the exception, where your own Twilio account or SIP trunk is supported (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). PeachDesk supports BYOK per pipeline stage per agent, and calls on your own keys are never metered by PeachDesk at all.
Can you self-host Bland AI?
Bland markets On-Prem and VPC deployment, but its pricing page places both behind Enterprise contracts with unpublished pricing; self-serve tiers run Bland-hosted (bland.ai/pricing, accessed 2026-07-30). PeachDesk self-hosts the full platform, including inference, with Docker Compose. Billing is off by default in the self-hosted stack, and you still pay your own providers and infrastructure. The difference is self-serve ownership versus a sales-gated contract.
Bland owns its models. Why does that not settle the comparison?
It is a real strength and we concede it: owning the model stack means call data does not pass to third-party model providers, which is the same structural argument our Local mode makes. The trade-offs are that the stack is closed, model quality rides on one vendor’s roadmap, there is no model choice or BYOK, and self-hosting that stack requires an Enterprise contract. PeachDesk makes the same data-isolation architecture available self-serve, on an open-model stack you can mix per stage.
Why do teams evaluate PeachDesk alongside Bland AI?
Usually for one of three structural reasons: the meter, the gates, or the keys. Bland’s bundled rate applies on every call with no path toward zero, guardrails, SSO, BAA, residency, and warm transfers sit behind Enterprise contracts, and there is no model-layer BYOK. PeachDesk offers an architectural path off the meter in Local mode, call data inside your environment without an enterprise gate, and per-stage sourcing across Frontier providers, your own keys, and self-hosted inference.
